HWASEONG, SOUTH KOREA – A major boost for the region’s power grid has arrived. The Hwaseong Yanggam Fuel Cell Power Plant, a 19.8MW facility, has officially
commenced commercial operations.
Led by HPS, the new power plant is expected to contribute to a stable supply of eco-friendly electricity to Hwaseong City and the broader southern metropolitan region.
This is enough to meet the annual power needs of over 55,000 households in Hwaseong, a region with a high demand for energy.
The successful completion of this project highlights a strong partnership between HPS and key collaborators, including Hwaseong City, local residents, Samchully,
SK ecoplant, and the Korea Development Bank. Phase 1’s success paves the way for a planned Phase 2, aimed at further expanding the region’s sustainable energy capacity.
